Tornado Leaves Damage In Haywood

Our sister chopper, SKYNEWS 9, caught another tornado touchdown in Haywood near McAlester. Homes were leveled to rubble by the twister.  A string of debris and mangled cars line the streets and front yards.

The News On 6's Jeffrey Smith got a first-hand look at the damage from the street-level. 

More than a half dozen homes were leveled in Pittsburg County.  Many more were damaged.  And, there is still debris scatted all over the place.

Residents tell The News On 6 the tornado system came and went all within a ten minute span.  It literally came out of the clear blue sky. 

Many homeowners in the state are trying to pick up the pieces now.  They say they'll just have to take it one day at a time.
