Severe Weather In Green Country

Thunderstorms are possible later today and early evening across portions of the area. Some may become severe.

The News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone reports morning storms will be possible across far northern OK and southern Kansas. Some of these may be severe with large hail and damaging wind gusts possible. Otherwise, expect mostly to partly cloudy and warm conditions today with highs near 89.

Additional thunderstorms are possible later today and early evening across portions of the area. Some may become severe.

The active weather pattern continues. A cluster of early morning storms have formed near the boundary in southern Kansas. Movement will be east and then southeast around 20 to 30 mph.

Large hail will be the main issue with these storms. A few storms, mainly in southern Kansas, may also produce winds near 65 to 70 mph. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for part of southern Kansas and northern OK until noon.

The boundary will sag southward with time today and additional storms will be possible this afternoon and evening. Some of these may also be severe.
