A boating fatality occurred shortly before midnight on Saturday at Tucker Tower on Lake Murray. This is six miles north of Marietta, Ok in Love County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, a 2004 Baja Outlaw operated by 21-year-old Ashley Jane Tolbert left the marina headed southwest enroute to a cove ¼ mile west of Tucker Tower to meet another boat. OHP says Tolbert didn't see the peninsula. The vessel struck the rocks and went airborne and rotated clockwise a complete revolution and landed bottom down on the rocks.

All four people who were in the vessel were ejected. Tolbert, 32-year-old Billy Edwin Miller, and 22-year-old Savanah Janea Burch were pinned under the boat. 37-year-old Christopher Dale Auten was ejected into the trees.

Miller was taken to the hospital and died after arrival. Tolbert was admitted to the hospital in stable condition with head and trunk external injuries. Auten refused treatment. Burch was treated and released from the hospital.

OHP says they could smell alcohol on the driver. They report the cause of the collision was unsafe speed.
