Windows Damaged At One Williams Center

There was a lot of damage in Downtown Tulsa on Sunday. The News On 6's Emory Bryan reports the Bank of Oklahoma Tower at One Williams Center took a beating from a work platform left dangling on the side of the building.

"We just heard that glass falling and hitting the street down here," said Walter Berg.

The platform broke loose in the wind and whipped back into the building, breaking out 14 windows on the south side. The platform punctured some of the steel panels between the windows.

"It would go way across the street and swing back and hit the glass and glass was going everywhere, it was pretty scary," said parking attendant, Nicole Boyd.

Flying debris hit six windows at One Technology Center, which is the new city hall. The damage was limited to the 5th floor, which is currently unoccupied.

No one was injured in the either building and both will open Monday for business.

When the storm went through downtown Tulsa, the wind was strong enough to topple trees. 

One car was smashed by the tree, which barely missed several other cars at 15th and Riverside.

Along the course of the Tulsa Tough bicycle race, tents were blown down and a referee was cut by debris.

Some early races were cut short during the storm, which left the course littered with limbs.

"The fire department has been out here and helped us clean up the course and all the neighbors came out and picked up the tree limbs, so the course is in great shape," said Malcom McCollam.

After the quick clean up job, the races continued.
