People in Mannford are getting a better idea of the damage from Sunday's hailstorm. Tennis ball sized hail pelted more than 1,000 homes and vehicles. News On 6 Anchor Scott Thompson reports, Mannford was the storm's first stop where it hammered everything in its path.

From there it went to Keystone Lake, sinking a boat and taking out a marina.

A blue tarp covers the Frick home in Mannford. Sunday's hail storm punched 17 holes in the roof.

Eleven-year-old Johnathan is still holding on to one of the frozen missiles.

"It was bigger but it kind of melted," said Johnathan Frick.

The hail was so powerful it splattered mud on to the side of their home when it hit the front yard.

"I thought we were in a tornado, I really did. That's how loud it was," said Johnathan.

"The roof is only three years old, but it took a lot of damage to it," said James Varner, Mannford resident.

Two doors down, water leaked through James Varner's roof after a hail stone punctured through the shingles. City officials say nearly every home in Mannford had roof damage. The city estimates around 600 homes had windows broken out and, in some cases, even the siding couldn't hold up to Mother Nature.

The damage means a busy day for roofers like Philip Moore.

"There's always a call coming in. I think they had seventy before noon yesterday," said Philip Moore with Cimarron Roofing.

Moore says he filled several hundred holes just on one roof alone.

"Every house I've seen is like that," said Moore.

Four miles away at Keystone Lake, a brand new dock at Pier 51 was in the middle of the storm's path.

"It drug all the anchors and swung it around against the ship store," Phil Hershberger with Pier 51 Marina.

The winds took the dock nearly 150 feet but no one was injured, Hershberger says. The only casualty was the houseboat "Margaritaville," the top of it can still be seen anchored in its slip.

"Never been in a storm like that. I've been on the lake all my life, different lakes, but I've never seen anything like that," said Hershberger.

In addition to the more than 1,000 homes that were damaged, the city says close to 15,000 cars had their windows broken or damaged.
