Tornado Outbreak Predicted

Warnings of a possible tornado outbreak from Oklahoma to Iowa are in the forecast for Thursday.

The News On 6 WARN team says conditions are similar to a deadly day in 1974 when 39 tornadoes touched down across the Great Plains.

Computer forecasting models resemble those of June 8, 1974, when more than 3 dozen tornadoes touched down, killing 22 people.

The News On 6 WARN team is predicting tornadoes could hit a corridor stretching from parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri into Iowa on Thursday.
