Collinsville Woman Captures Miss Oklahoma Title

A new Miss Oklahoma has been crowned. Representing Keystone Lake, Kelsey Cartwright of Collinsville, is on her way to the Miss America pageant.

Cartwright is a sophomore at Oklahoma City University studying Dance Management. She is a member of the National Dean's List and has won a number of awards for academics as well as dance performances.

The 20-year-old spoke at a press conference on Sunday, explaining what makes the Oklahoma pageant so successful.

"We want to do this with every fiber and soul because we know how successful this has been and I'm telling you it's the people that are behind it is the director that makes it what it is," said Cartwright.

Kelsey's talent for the competition was a lyrical dance. She'll receive a $16,000 scholarship for winning.
