There are fears of flooding in parts of Green Country. The rain has stopped, but that doesn't mean an end to concerns about flooding. Some parts of our area got more than five inches of rain. News On 6 anchor Craig Day reports state Highways 20 and 11 are closed on Monday night because of water over the road.

This is a common sight after heavy rains. But, road crews say there is also high water in some other places where they haven't seen flooding in a long time.

Buck Martin has made about a half dozen trips back and forth along county road 40-50 in Rogers County.

"I think it will probably get four feet deep," said Buck Martin, Oologah resident.

He's worried about the Caney River. Martin has seen the water get high before, and he's worried it will do it again. So, Martin is loading up and hauling some of his valuables to higher ground.

"Before the water gets up, I start moving my stuff out," said Martin.

Martin's road isn't the only one with water across it. This driver was caught in the high water along state Highway 20. Bird Creek, just east of Skiatook, will crest on Tuesday at about seven feet above flood stage.

The water is several feet deep and has closed the road at 129th Street North in Collinsville.

County road crews have been busy putting out warning signs, and hope drivers will pay attention.

"You just don't realize how deep it is or how strong the current is, especially when it gets dark," said Russell Robertson, who is a Tulsa County worker.

There is concern that even though the rain has stopped, the water could get much higher because of runoff from areas hit hard by rain.

"As much as it has rained up North, I know it's going to get high down here," said Martin.

The Caney River is expected to crest on Wednesday at about eight feet above normal. So, Buck Martin isn't taking any chances.

"That river is going to come out. I just know it will," said Martin.

The water along state Highway 20 is expected to be over the road until Wednesday at the earliest.
