Simple cell phone tricks can help you Go Green, working to save the planet when you place a call. Folks at US Celluar offered a few suggestions.

Your charger still draws power out of the wall even when you're not using it, so unplugging it will save some energy.

Also, don't automatically charge your phone every night, just when the battery has run down.

Many phones come with an internal alarm clock, which eliminates the need for a plug in clock.

Save paper by using your phone to make lists and jot down reminders.

"As everyone's concerned about the environment right now, everyone's concerned about saving energy. These are really simple ways that you can use a handset to start conserving, little impact to your life. Using a phone you already have as simple life enhancing tools," said Denise Hutton, with US Cellular.

Hutton also added, many phones come with a navigation service. It's a good way to map out where you're going, instead of driving around wasting gas while looking for an address.
