Tickets for the opening act at the BOK Center sold out on Monday in less than an hour, leaving many fans of The Eagles disappointed they won't be able to go.  The News On 6's Emory Bryan reports it was a frenzy to get seats.

The promoter limited each buyer to eight tickets each, but otherwise it was a free for all with most of the tickets sold through the website.

The line at the ticket office stretched out the door.  A security guard kept order while Eagles fans counted their cash and tried their luck.

"I need six, two tickets together would be wonderful," said Rachel Williams.

The cheapest seats didn't last.

"And, that was the last two together of the $87 ones, the $52 one was gone before we got here," Randy Campbell.

For some, the Eagles is the hottest ticket they've ever bought.

"Oh my gosh, We fell in love listening to the Eagles, the first song we danced to, and we got to dance to Hotel California and we've been together ever since," said Teresa Bacon.

The most successful ticket buyers worked every angle to get what they wanted.

"We did everything.  We did the phone.  We had a computer backup.  And, I stood in line, so one way or the other we were going to see the Eagles," said Jeff Mullins.

"We got six, all in the $87 range, we wanted $187, but it couldn't happen," said Rachel Williams.

Some of the people waiting in line did better by having someone else online.

"And, that's not right because if you're going to wait, you ought to be able to get a ticket," said Lorna Wickersham.

Within a half hour all but individual seats were sold.

BOK Center management says with so many tickets sold on-line, being at the box office is only a slight advantage, if any.

"We have the same tickets that are online, or on the web, it's all the same ticket system and pulling from the same ticket pool," BOK Center assistant general Manager Jerry Goldman.

But no one who got tickets was complaining afterward.

"If it wasn't Garth, has to be the Eagles," said Sheila Montgomery.

The Eagles concert is the first and 14,000 seats for The Eagles were available.

A limited number of tickets were sold last Friday to American Express account holders, as part of a sponsorship deal with the band, but BOK Center management says there were no other tickets sold before hand.

The News On 6 has heard from people who couldn't get tickets who don't believe they can sell that fast, but this commonly happens with major concerts in other cities.

There is little chance of another Eagles show because they're playing San Antonio two nights after they play Tulsa.
