After spending 31 years in prison, Thomas Harris was paroled. Newson6.com's Chris Howell reports he now works for Fitting Back In Prison Rehabilitation Services on Utica Avenue in north Tulsa, helping others adjust to life after release.

"Since I've been out I got a job.  I got married, and I've never looked back at the mistake I've made in the past," said Thomas Harris.

"Thomas is one of the greatest helps to people, especially the men coming out because they can look at him and say 'Yes, I can. I can be just like Thomas, I don't have to be hard-hearted just because I was incarcerated,"' said Jeanettie Marshall of Fitting Back In.

Jobs and housing are two of the toughest problems facing those recently released, but there is help available. Thomas and his coworkers at Fitting Back In hold classes, find housing and jobs, and look after the needs of those that walk through their doors.

Thomas took advantage of the programs when he was released, and knows its value.

"It's up to the individual when he gets out what he wants to do with his life. That's why this program is so vital to them because it will help them turn their life all the way around," said Thomas Harris.
