HST Offers Reward In Dog Abuse Case

The Humane Society of Tulsa is offering $1,000 to anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction in the recent burning of several dogs.

Five dogs were discovered in the area of 51st Street North and Lewis last week. Police believe the dogs were burned with some type of acid or other caustic chemical.

Police think these dogs were deliberately abused by the same person or group of people, and say they started showing up right after the Fourth of July. Some of the dogs were so severely burned, they had to be euthanized.

HST is also calling on animal lovers to unite and donate to the reward fund.

The Oklahoma Alliance for Animals says it is also offering a $1,500 reward to bring the abuser to justice.

In Oklahoma, animal abuse is a felony crime that carries a maximum sentence of $5,000 in fines and five years in prison.
