Tulsa toys with triple-digits.  Most of Green Country is under a heat advisory.  That has Tulsans scrambling to find ways to beat the heat.  The News On 6's Chris Wright reports the heat has made life miserable for anyone stuck outside.

Plenty of swimmers were diving right in Wednesday afternoon at McClure Park.  The pool there offered some relief from the sweltering temperatures.

"It was so hot, it was basically let's go to the pool, there's nothing else for the kids to do," said one swimmer.

"It just be hot, and it just be hot.  There's nothing else to say, it's hot," said another swimmer.

Now while attracting people to places like pools, all the heat is driving away some business at places like farmers markets.

Those brave enough to still shop at Sooner Produce were cooled by a giant fan, a lifesaver for employees forced to man the stand all day.

"I couldn't be out here without that fan. I'm in the heat you know, 12 hours, I'd be passed out in here," said John Kapsal with Sooner Produce.

Others had no choice but to endure the heat.  Workers are under pressure to complete renovations at the fairgrounds, and that means no breaks, even when a heat advisory is issued.  Some workers admit the heat is miserable to a point.

"It is and it isn't.  It's money.  You gotta make money.  You've got to work," said Bobby Thomas with Alliance Electric.

The Fairgrounds is also hosting Palomino World Championships this week.  The horses are being given plenty of water, and fans have been put in their stables.

"It's awful hot for horses to be riding and showing when it's this hot," said horse trainer Jody Wood.

Still, the prized horses seemed to be faring much better than many of their owners.

"Are you using the fat guy because he's sweating, is that what the deal is?" said horse trainer Todd Grant.

Expect the sweating to continue, and the pools to remain packed, as temperatures continue to climb over the next few days.

The heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service will be in effect until at least 7 o'clock Thursday night.
