Two men who robbed a convenience store thought they had a good hide-out for their car. But, it turns out a camera was pointed at them the entire time. News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports they were caught on tape.
Now police need your help to catch the crooks.
The robbery happened at 11:30 a.m. on June 7th at the Fiesta Mart near 21st and Sheridan. The two men pull up in their blue Ford Thunderbird, into a car wash across the street, first into one bay, then into a second.
"Two individuals pull into the car was and pretend they're washing the car, but, then one of them goes into the Fiesta Mart with a pistol," said TPD Officer Leland Ashley.
While the robber is in the store, getting money, his look-out got nervous and moves the car into now the third bay of the car way. He even gets impatient and leaves the bay to look at store. Not long after, the robber runs to the car, hops in and they drive off. Their exit is caught on yet another camera.
"The good thing about this one, we have surveillance video that shows the suspect pulling up in a blue Ford Thunderbird and that should standout," said Officer Ashley.
Police hope someone recognizes the car or the suspects.
