A 17-year-old Owasso teen is dead following a traffic accident late Monday in east Tulsa.

Just after 9 p.m. Monday, emergency crews were called to I-244 at U.S. Highway 169. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Jeep Grand Cherokee was westbound on I-244 when the driver tried to exit onto U.S. Highway 169 at a high rate of speed.

The Jeep overturned and flipped two or three times.

OHP troopers say 5 teens where in the Jeep.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the deceased teen was identified as Dallas Peterson.  He was ejected from the Jeep. Troopers say Peterson was not wearing seatbelt.

OHP troopers identified the driver as 17-year old Dalton Donner of Collinsville.  The passengers were identified as Blake Lutz, 17, Justin Glowacki, 18, and Benjamin Puzan, 17, all of Owasso.  Donner, Lutz and Glowacki were treated at a Tulsa hospital and released.  Puzan was admitted to a Tulsa hospital with head injuries.  Troopers say Lutz was also not wearing a seatbelt.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
