Tulsa firefighters returned to an apartment complex late Wednesday morning to extinguish a fire that had rekindled.

A man was severely burned in the earlier blaze.  He is listed in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital.

Two others were also taken to a Tulsa hospital due to smoke inhalation, but have since been released.

Six in the Morning reporter Carina Sonn reports the fire started a little after 10 p.m. Tuesday.  Neighbors say just moments after they called 911, Tulsa Fire trucks arrived on scene to help put out the flames.

Fire crews say the blaze started in the second floor of a small apartment complex in the 1200 block of South Quincy.

Officials say there are 6 units in the complex.   Shortly after firefighters arrived, search and rescue went inside and found a male victim with burns to most of his body.  Two other residents were also overcome with smoke inhalation; one of them remains in serious condition Wednesday morning.

Neighbors, like Sarah Foster say they arrived home just in time to call for help.

"He saw the fire; we live just three doors down.  So he got in the apartment of ours and started calling 911," said Sarah Foster.

Tulsa Fire says it did find a working smoke detector in the apartment.

Most of the damage is confined to the second floor of the complex and there is no word yet on why it started.  Loss is estimated at $50,000.

The intense heat, both inside and outside the apartment also presented problems for firefighters.  EMSA along with the Red Cross came to the scene to help cool them down.   Extra fire crews were also brought in to rotate as a precaution.

No firefighters were hurt.
