State money and private donors have come together to provide early childhood education to young Tulsans. The new $4.5 million Skelly Early Childhood Education Center will serve 150 children, six weeks to 4-years-old.

"What we're committed to doing here at this center and centers and all across the community just like it is making sure that all children have the opportunity to enter kindergarten fully equipped with the knowledge and skills that they need, the social skills, the emotional skills, the medical care, the parenting skills, so that the whole child is ready to go into the school system and take advantage of the public's, public education investment," said Steven Dow of the Community Action Project.
