The triple digit temperatures continue to keep first responders busy and make things miserable for anyone stuck outside. News On 6's Chris Wright reports there is no escaping Monday's sweltering heat.

We are wrapping up our fourth straight day in the triple digits, while everyone gears up for a fifth on Tuesday.

After laying asphalt, one group of construction workers opted to take a break beneath a storefront. But, when it's 104 out, even the shade provides little relief.

EMSA has responded to dozens of heat-related calls since Friday and it treated seven more people on Monday.

One man was attended to and then released after he complained of heat-stroke symptoms while driving his car.

All the dangers that come with the heat wave prompted a meeting of the Tulsa Heat Coalition. The organization was formed to prevent extreme heat deaths. On Monday it opted to open another cooling center at the Tulsa County Social Services building located at 2401 Charles Page Boulevard.

"We're at a point right now where you don't have that recharging time to recover from when you've been out in the heat," said Tulsa Heat Coalition Director, Roger Jolliff.

Those wise enough to remain indoors are taking advantage of their air conditioning and that has put a strain on PSO's system.

With air conditioners running at full blast, PSO believes it may set an all-time record for usage at some point this week.

"We have more than is needed to serve customers and as long as everything holds up, we'll be just fine," said PSO Spokesperson, Stan Whiteford.

Those who choose to venture outside, or are stuck working in the triple digits will have to keep finding ways to stay cool. The expected high on Tuesday is 103.

Besides the one on Charles Page, another cooling center is located at The Salvation Army Center at 102 North Denver.

A third will open on Tuesday morning at the Hicks Community Center at 3443 S Mingo.

PSO says it set an unofficial usage record Monday afternoon around 4:00. That means more electricity was being used then than at any other time in the city's history.
