A partnership between the City of Tulsa and Tulsa County is paying off. The Tulsa City-County Library opened its new Herman and Kate Kaiser Library and Buddy LaFortune Community Center near 51st and Hudson in South Tulsa on Wednesday.

The 10,000 square foot library, which was fully funded by donors, offers thousands of books, several computers and plenty of reading space for both adults and children.

Vision 2025 funds paid for the new community center that has sports equipment and plenty of room for parties.

"It has been our intent and our dream to open a permanent facility and we are thrilled that Tulsa County has welcomed us into their family and that we can be a part of this joint venture," said Linda Saferite of the Tulsa City-County Library.
