It was a pretty nice day to get outside and do a little work. About 150 law students volunteered at a variety of places around town, including cleaning up Kendall Whittier Elementary's courtyard.
Every year, the university sends first-year law students out into the community.
"To really understand that community service is not just something that's nice to do, but to an integral part of their profession," said TU College of Law Dean Janet Levit.
Besides all the yard work at Kendall Whittier, students also copied books for students to take home.
TU says statistics show the average household only has 0.4 books.
