Event Helping Families Beat Hard Times

An event to help families beat the hard economic times kicked off on Sunday.  Just Between Friends is a children and maternity consignment event. It gives families the opportunity to earn money from selling used children's items.

It also helps them save money on back-to-school shopping.

"What we say is that you can come out here and you can cloth a child for an entire season for a hundred dollars or less and that's hard to do," said Just Between Friends Co-Owner Shannon Wilburn.

The event runs through next Saturday at Expo Square.  More than 10,000 people are expected to participate.
