Dozens of puppies are rescued from a Missouri puppy mill.  The puppies arrived in Tulsa on Monday night where rescue groups were ready to find the dogs new homes.

Those heading up the rescue effort say the pups are more socialized than most dogs rescued from puppy mills, but still need help before they can be adopted.

"We want to get them socialized to things like doorbells, phone calls and doors closing and people talking and laughing, normal sounds that happen in a household, since they've been treated as farm animals instead of a beloved family pet. That's all about to change for them," said Robin Pressnall with Small Paws Rescue.

All the dogs will be checked out by veterinarians.

Then, they'll go home with foster families who will care for the puppies until they find permanent homes.
