Woman Loves Work As Concierge

It is not often we hear someone say they are working in a job they feel was invented just for them.

It is not often we hear someone say they are working in a job they feel was invented just for them.  The News On 6's Rick Wells reports Christi Christianson is one of them.

Christi Christianson is the concierge for the Gold Medallion Retirement Centers in Tulsa.  On Tuesday, She was picking up someone for a doctor's appointment.  It is part of a typically busy day.

"Yes, I am very busy, usually running from one appointment to the next," said Christi Christianson.

Bill Richardson is heading to the doctor's office.  Christi has been to all his appointments with him.  She has all his recent medical history in her head.  He doesn't have to worry about it.  She's taking care of it for him.

"I consider myself a fill-in family member for my residents," said Christi Christianson.

When Mr. Richardson is finished at the doctor, she'll schedule his next appointment, get any prescriptions filled and get him back home.  When she has him settled, she's off to the hospital to help another client.

"Gentleman who's in the hospital.  His daughter lives in Texas," said Christi Christianson.

She'll check on him and then report back to his daughter.  The man in the hospital gets a visitor.  The daughter in Texas gets an update on her father.

She shops for groceries, picks up dry cleaning or just visits.  She a stay at home mom turned retirement center concierge.  She says it's a job she was made for.

"It's exactly what I was looking for.  It's a blessing.  It's as if it was invented for me," said Christi Christianson.
