A man, who just got out of prison for murder, has been arrested again for stabbing his sister's boyfriend.  The News On 6's crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports Jared Henderson's latest arrest has stirred up painful memories for many people, including a Tulsa Police officer.

Jared Henderson killed a young woman in 1998 when he crashed into her while refusing to stop for police.  When the officer involved that night was asked if she remembered the case, she told The News On 6 she doesn't just remember it, she thinks about it every single day.

Records say Jared Henderson was 17, troubled and on drugs July 2, 1998 when a police officer saw him driving with no headlights and he refused to pull over.

"Thought I was trying to stop a drunk driver before he killed somebody," said Tulsa Police Detective Kathy Still.

Records show Henderson stopped and started several times, acting like he was going to bail out of the car, until driving near 31st and Harvard.   Just before an intersection, he floored it and sped through a red light.

"I was told about five minutes after the wreck that someone had died," said Tulsa Police Detective Kathy Still.

A woman, 24-year-old Rebecca Williams, was killed instantly when Henderson clipped a van and slammed into her car.

Her parents were devastated and still are.  Her father told The News On 6 in a phone conversation that he wasn't surprised Henderson was in trouble again.

"Henderson had been a young man with a lot of problems and after being stuck in prison, what else would you expect?" said Rebecca Williams' father.

He's also still upset with the police.

Detective Still blamed herself for a long time and says it wasn't easy coming to terms with that night.

"I pray for them every day. I think about their daughter, the what-ifs but, to get on with my life, I had to come to terms with my role in it and move one. I even considered a career change.  That's how much it affected me," said Tulsa Police Detective Kathy Still.

Detective Still had been on the force for five years at the time of the crash.  Now, she has 15 years under her belt and is a detective assigned to work crimes against children.

Rebecca Williams was a CPA.  She was in Tulsa to work on an audit for the state fair.

Jared Henderson was sentenced to 15 years in prison for her murder.  He served nine years and was released on June 12th.

He now faces a new charge of assault and battery with intent to kill.
