TULSA, OK -- Some Members of the 138th Fighter Wing will be racing in the Tulsa Run while deployed overseas.

Major Rick Poplin will be taking part in the Tulsa Run despite being in Iraq.  His running partner, Colonel Scott Rooks isn't making the trip overseas, but will get to fire the starter's pistol at the beginning of the race in Tulsa.

Both airmen are hoping all the runners take the chance to help other servicemen and women.  For $1, runners can buy a tag to honor military past or present.

"It's kind of like a race number.   Except it goes on the back and it has the name there," said Major Rick Poplin.

Runners can buy the tag when they register for the run or the day of the race.  The Tulsa Run is set for October 25th.
