TULSA, OK -- Students at Tulsa's Eugene Field Elementary got to be Farmers for a Day. It was all part of the school's Farm to Market program.
Kids got to taste different fruits and vegetables, try various herbs and spices and even see how to milk a cow. The program teaches children how their meals end up on their kitchen tables.
"We're in a pretty convenient world where everything is so easy, you know, at our fingertips so we can get to it. And, the kids need to actually learn where these things come from," said Eugene Field's Gloria Newman.
Eugene Field, at 2249 S. Phoenix Avenue, is just one of the many schools participating in the program.
