Street To Close For NBA Exhibition Game

On Monday, Oklahoma City's new NBA team, Thunder, will play their first game against The Houston Rockets.

TULSA, OK - On Monday, Oklahoma City's new NBA team, Thunder, will play their first game against The Houston Rockets. The preseason game will be played at the BOK Center.

Crowds in excess of 12,000 are anticipated to attend. The game begins at 7:30 Monday night.

Support Parking Area: 2nd Street between Guthrie Avenue and Heavy Traffic Way, Guthrie Avenue between 2nd Street and 3rd Street, Frisco Avenue between 1st Street and 2nd Street, the east curb lane of Frisco Avenue between 2nd Street and 3rd Street, and the south curb lane of 1st Street between Denver Avenue and Frisco Avenue will be closed from 7:00 AM Saturday to 2:00 AM Sunday.

Event Drop Off Area: 3rd Street between Denver Avenue and Frisco Avenue will be closed
from 7:00 AM Saturday to 2:00 AM Sunday. See the attached map.

Shuttle Service: Tulsa Transit will provide a shuttle service for the BOK Center.

The Tulsa Transit Denver Station on the southeast corner of 3rd Street and Denver Avenue will function as the primary pick-up and drop-off location and service the "Superblock" parking lot east of Elgin Avenue between 1st and 2nd Streets along with other designated parking lots in the downtown area. The shuttle route goes east on 4th Street from Cheyenne Avenue to Elgin
Avenue, north on Elgin Avenue to 1st Street, west on 1st Street to Cheyenne Avenue, and
south on Cheyenne Avenue. The shuttle stops are east of 4th Street and Boulder Avenue, east
of 4th Street and Detroit Avenue, north of 2nd Street and Elgin Avenue, and west of 1st Street and Boston Avenue.

The Tulsa Police Department says drivers who are not coming to watch or participate in this event should avoid the area.
