Patrol Car Destroyed By Arsonist

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Oklahoma Fire Marshal investigate the arson of one of the patrol's cars.

JAY, OK -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Oklahoma Fire Marshal investigate the arson of one of the patrol's cars over the weekend.

OHP Lt. George Brown says just before 2 o'clock Sunday morning, someone threw a concrete block through the back glass of the 2008 Dodge Charger which was parked at a trooper's residence, west of Jay.

Jay is located in Delaware County.

Brown says once the glass was broken, the suspect or suspects then set the car on fire.  The OHP patrol car and its contents were a total loss.  Damage is estimated at up to $50,000.

The trooper's name was not released and investigator's say they have no suspects.
