BROKEN ARROW, OK -- Gerbils and gerbil fanciers were in Broken Arrow recently for the first-ever American Gerbil Society Midwest show.
"They're all descended from about twenty breeding pairs," said Katy McQueen, AGS Judge and organizer of the show. "They're from the Mongolia, northern China region. Compared to other rodents they are so much less stinky."
Besides being judged on looks and temperament, the cute little rodents competed in events like the obstacle course, toilet paper-tube chewing and the Gerbil ball race.
