TULSA, OK -- Cars lined up by the dozen on Saturday as Tulsans threw away their household hazards.

The Metropolitan Environmental Trust along with the Tulsa hazmat and bomb squads collected hazardous waste.

People brought by cans of paint, expired medicines and even ammunition.

"We encourage citizens to take the day to clean out under the sink, the medicine cabinet, anything in the garage if you're not going to use it stop storing it, bring it to us and we'll do the right thing," said Michael Patton of the Metropolitan Environmental Trust.

If you have any materials you want to get rid of, they're taking more on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tulsa Fairgrounds at Gate 7.
