TULSA, OK -- Despite the lower gasoline prices, AAA thinks travel will be down this Thanksgiving holiday week.
In fact, they say 600,000 people will stay home instead of hitting the road.
"There are companies downsizing. We're hearing about the layoffs. And I think that really has produced a certain amount of desire to stay home, hunker down, save your money and as I say save that for a trip later on," says AAA spokesperson in Oklahoma Chuck Mai.
It's not just drivers who are taking a break. AAA says about 6 percent fewer travelers will be flying over this holiday week.
