SAPULPA, OK -- An Oklahoma church is hoping to giving back through the arts. The Sapulpa Bible Church held a Christmas themed dinner theater on Saturday evening to raise money for a local charity.
Church members made meals and performed a play scripted by one of the church's members.
"I'm a registered nurse and I was in nursing school when I read this little children's book called "If You're Missing Baby Jesus" in the lay-away line a Wal-Mart, actually. And, I thought this is a really cool book and I bought it and I read it to the kids a couple of times and I thought, you know, this would make a good stage play," said playwrite Richard Coleman.
His play is based off the book that focuses on how simple acts of kindness are so important, especially this time of year.
