OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Skirvin Hotel turned a historic mansion into a literal sweet house.

The giant gingerbread replication of the historic Overholser Mansion was made to commemorate Oklahoma history and the holidays.

The Skirvin Hotel's Chef Andrew Black used the original blueprints of the historic mansion as a guide. It took the staff over 170 hours to complete.

"Well as a way to commemorate the preservation efforts of the Overholser Mansion and a way to celebrate Christmas here at the Skirvin, we decided to do a gingerbread house and we came up with the idea to do the Overholser Mansion," Skirvin Hotel Manager John William said.

The staff also used 200 photos of the mansion to make sure the house was a perfect gingerbread replication.
