JENKS, OK -- A percussionist from Jenks High School has garnered some national attention.  Jenks sophomore, Christopher Adkins, was selected by the Bands of America to march with the National Honor Band in the 2009 Tournament of Roses Parade.

Adkins will spend a week in southern California for rehearsals and performances in the Tournament of Roses Parade and at Disneyland.

"To be selected for this unique opportunity is a once in a lifetime experience for these students," said Bands of America CEO Scott McCormick.

The band is a 300 piece ensemble with winds, percussion and a flag and dance team.
