Wintry Weather Forecast For Oklahoma

Posted: Updated:

Associated Press

It'll be unseasonably warm in Oklahoma Wednesday, but a cold front will bring cooler temperatures to the state in time for the New Year.

The National Weather Service says the cold front will move into northwestern Oklahoma Wednesday morning and move through most of the forecast area throughout the day.

Temperatures will be quite warm in most areas and humidity values will be quite low. Wind speeds do not appear to be sufficient for a red flag wildfire warning, but the warm and dry weather will elevate the fire weather concerns.

Colder air behind the front will filter in tomorrow night and New Year's Eve. Temperatures will moderate somewhat for New Year's Day before the next front moves through Thursday night. Moisture is lacking on both systems and the state's forecast remains dry.
