MUSKOGEE, OK -- Precautions against future embezzlements in the Muskogee County District Court Clerk's Office include computer software that prevents the rewriting of a check.

Court Clerk Paula Sexton and Kellpro, the software provider for most court clerks in Oklahoma, went on high alert after an alleged embezzlement of almost $600,000 was discovered in Sexton's office in September.

Muskogee County District Attorney Larry Moore ordered an investigative audit from the State Auditor and Inspector's Office, which is in its final stages.

Jackie L. Borovetz, a deputy and the bookkeeper in Sexton's office from September 2002 until late September 2008, is charged with 11 felony counts of embezzlement covering the 11 months.
