UNDATED -- Dozens of Tulsans braved the chilly temperatures, crowds and security to witness history in the making, as Barack Obama took his oath of office in Washington, DC.  They traveled 1,200 miles, braved massive crowds, and endured body-numbing temperatures all to watch Mr. Obama raise his hand, swear an oath, and turn a page in the history books.

"We were in a crowd of about three and a half million people today watching Mr. Obama give his speech.  And, it was an experience like none I've ever had," said Locust Grove teacher Sandy Pierce.

In the sea of millions, Tulsans staked a claim on the moment.  The crowd fell silent as the 44th President of the United States took to the podium.

"I mean everybody was intently listening to him. And, just taking every word in. Like a big sponge out there everybody was taking in what he had to say," said Adam Holloway of Mannford.

"I loved it all. Every point was a high point," said Locust Grove 8th grader Aaron Conway.

Oklahoma's flag was carried by Union's Junior ROTC.
