Poteau Senator Running For Lieutenant Governor

Democrat Kenneth Corn has officially launched his campaign for lieutenant governor in 2010, promising to be a tenacious job recruiter if elected.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- State Sen. Kenneth Corn has officially launched his campaign for lieutenant governor in 2010, promising to be a tenacious job recruiter if elected.

Corn, a Poteau Democrat, was elected to the House in 1998 and to the Senate in 2002 at age 25.

His announcement comes six days after the current Democratic lieutenant governor, Jari Askins, declared she is running for governor.

Corn says as lieutenant governor, he will have the freedom to concentrate on a few key programs that will bring hope to Oklahomans in troubled times.

He says he will devote most of his time pushing economic development initiatives, as well as expanding health care programs and improving public schools.
