TULSA, OK -- Some Tulsa high school students are getting their hands dirty to make their school grounds more attractive.

Science students at Rogers High are leaving their legacies in greenery by planting dozens of trees and ornamental grasses.

Officials said the school had a lot of damage from the ice storm and other trees were old and dying.

More than 200 people have helped with the project.

"They had to really collaborate and learn to work together as a team instead of just an individual," biology teacher Melissa Venable said.

This is just the first phase of the project. Next year, students plan to build a greenhouse.
