IRVING, Texas (AP) - Oklahoma State freshman German Fernandez is the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week after setting a world junior record in the mile run.
Fernandez ran the mile in 3:56.50 to win the mile at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., and break a record set by Jim Ryun in 1966.
