TULSA, OK -- Since 2004, more than 20,000 blankets have been donated and distributed by Project Warmth.

It's a partnership among The News on 6, LaMode Cleaners, Western Sun Federal Credit Union, Volunteers of America Oklahoma and Mathis Brothers Furniture.

Hundreds of people will be kept warmer this winter thanks to generous donations.

The campaign wrapped-up this weekend and Six in the Morning Anchor LeAnne Taylor was on hand to help pick-up blankets at Victory Christian Center.

Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty challenged his congregation and other churches during an interview on Six in the Morning to a collection drive.

They collected close to 200 blankets.

LaMode cleaners will clean the blankets and Volunteers of America will distribute them.

On Monday The News On 6 collected more than 200 blankets from Mathis Brothers. The store also raised about $700 to buy more blankets.

If you need a blanket, call Volunteers of America at (918) 307-1500.
