TULSA, OK -- The driver of an 18-wheeled transport truck from Stone Trucking was electrocuted Tuesday morning.

The incident happened just before 10:00 a.m. at 3400 East 36th Street North.

Captain Michael Baker, Public Information Officer with the Tulsa Fire Department said the truck was moving a large heat exchanger west on 36th Street North, when the load got tangled with overhead utility lines.

Baker said the driver then climbed on top of the heat exchanger to free it, but when he touched the lines, he was electrocuted by a 4,200-volt shock.

PSO removed the power and enabled Tulsa Firefighters to climb to the top of the truck and begin treating the victim.

Crews used a bucket truck to move the victim to the street.

EMSA took the victim to a local hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
