UNDATED -- As The News On 6 reported on Wednesday, a Pawnee doctor accused of child molestation has a history of sexual misconduct.  Dr. William Clymer was arrested, although the allegations do not involve his patients.

Dr. William Clymer, however, has been on probation with the Osteopathic Medical Board for two years after he was accused of sexual harassment by his co-workers.

The case raises questions about how you can find out if your physician has a clean record.

There are two boards of examiners in Oklahoma whose mission is to protect the public by regulating, educating and licensing doctors.  They take complaints and investigate doctors accused of all sorts of misconduct.

They also have websites where the public can access information on their doctors.  If your doctor is an allopathic physician or an MD, you go to the Oklahoma Medical Board website.  Once there, you can click on "Find Doctor" to type in your doctor's name.

The board lists all kinds of information, including their current license status and their disciplinary history.

If your doctor is a DO or a doctor of osteopathic medicine, you can use the Board of Osteopathic Examiners.  Again, you can search for your physician by name and look for a line on their page that says board action.  If your doctor has not had any trouble with the board, it will say none.  If he or she has, it will say to contact the board for additional information.

That means you'll have to call the board and request the specific information on your doctor.

And, by the way, the Oklahoma Medical Board alone gets more than 400 complaints a year.
