Langston Student Shot In Stillwater

STILLWATER, OK -- A Langston University student has been shot outside a Stillwater dance hall in an incident authorities think might have involved gangs.

Payne County Sheriff R.B. Hauf says Dominique Turner was shot twice with a handgun outside Tumbleweed Dance Hall and Concert Arena early Friday.

Turner's condition is unknown. Hospitals in Perry and Stillwater had no record of a patient with that name.

Hauf says witnesses told deputies that gangs might have been involved. He says workers at the dance club told authorities they saw a group of males run to a maroon van and flee the scene.

The sheriff says he plans to meet with the dance hall's owner to discuss security concerns.
