BROKEN ARROW, OK -- A high school basketball game Tuesday night between Broken Arrow and Muskogee was canceled after a Muskogee basketball player collapsed on the court.

Jerome Beasley collapsed in the 4th quarter with the score tied 48-48.

School officials say BA High School certified athletic trainer Casey Paulk was the first person to get to Beasley.

An automated external defibrillator was applied, but school officials say a shock treatment was not needed.

The high school junior was taken to a Tulsa hospital, where he was kept overnight for further tests.

After the incident, school officials say they decided to cancel the game.

Officials praised the quick response of Paulk and others.
