Mother Pleads Guilty In Child Abuse Case

CLAREMORE, OK -- A Rogers County mother is heading to prison.  Roxann Barnard pleaded guilty to enabling child abuse.

Her four-year-old son, Christopher, died last summer.  Police say the boy's stepfather admitted to punching him in the stomach.

Prosecutors are recommending Barnard spend 40 years in prison.   She gave birth to another child in October, while in jail.

Christopher's stepfather, Steven Lockler, Junior, will spend the rest of his life in prison as part of a plea deal he reached in December.
