TULSA, OK -- Tulsa's Rotary Club announces its Fire Company and Police Officer of the Year on Wednesday at a special lunch.

Tim O'Keefe accepted the Officer of the Year Award.  The Rotary choose Officer O'Keefe because, on top of his normal duties, he is committed to working with kids in the Kendall Whittier neighborhood.  He's credited with reducing crime in the area and making it a better place to live.

Fire Engine Company  24-A  received Fire Company of the Year.  Besides responding heroically to several calls, the Rotary says each member has a passion for helping kids.  Plus, the company started a junior firefighter program.

Captain Mike Ward leads the unit.  Its members include Adrienne Stoops, Bill Esmeyer, Ronnie Miller, Nick Ridener and Josh Gibson.

This is the second annual "Above and Beyond Service Awards".

The Rotary Club donated $500 to both the Tulsa Police and Tulsa Fire Department's Memorial Fund in the winner's names.
