TULSA, OK -- A bridge repair project gets underway Monday along I-244.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says if your daily commute includes I-244; expect traffic delays for the next couple of months.

ODOT says work will begin Monday to repair three bridges along the Tulsa interstate.

More than 75,000 vehicles use this stretch of interstate highway every day, but their daily commute could be a drag for a while.

ODOT says work will include the three westbound bridges over U.S. Highway 169, Mingo Road, and 89th East Avenue.

The $4 million project will last seven months.

ODOT says it will close various lanes and ramps during the project, but it will warn drivers ahead of time. A new traffic warning system will give drivers traffic updates in real time on message boards along I-244.

If you want to bypass the I-244 work zones all together, ODOT suggests westbound I-44 and the BA Expressway can be used as alternate routes.
