UNDATED -- The fire danger remains very high across northeast Oklahoma.  Several grassfires scorched thousands of acres early Friday.  Two of the fires were in Rogers County.

One of the fires came dangerously close to a building and a house near Highway 412 and 305th East Avenue.  Officials say the weather did them no favors.

They say the dry conditions and high winds made it difficult to put out the flames.  In all, the two fires burned 100 acres.  Firefighters from Catoosa, Verdigris, Rolling Hills and Inola came to help.

Crews were busy in Tulsa County, too.  At least four separate fires broke out in Sperry.  Some of them got as big as 20 acres.  Again high winds fanned the flames, but no homes or other buildings were burned.

Authorities are looking into the possibility of arson.
