Tulsa May Receive $3 Million To Fight Crime

The White House is sending $26.2 million from the federal recovery plan to Oklahoma law enforcement agencies.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The White House is sending $26.2 million from the federal recovery plan to Oklahoma law enforcement agencies as part of the federal stimulus package to keep the
war on crime on track during the economic downturn.

The money is part of the annual grant program through the justice department.

The Tulsa Police Department could receive almost $3 million, and Tulsa County is eligible for $152,000.

The amounts are based on population and crime rates.
